Getting up early

Gizzy's been waking me up every morning at 6:30 to let me know it's time to go outside...so today I sat out back whilst sipping my coffee and saw why the birds have abandoned my neighbor's bird feeding station:
(look closely on the base of the tree next to the bird bath)

I enjoyed the quiet while watching the sun come up. I especially love that big Crepe Myrtle bush/tree on the big lawn behind the swing.

Well, it's 9:30 am and almost time to close up before it gets too hot in here and too loud outside. Middi has enjoyed sitting by the open window and I only received a couple of mosquito bites - not a bad trade-off!

While I'm here, I want to show you my latest work:

A cotton Grape clusters potholder (L) and a Patriotic cotton dish cloth trio:

These items (and more) can be found in my Etsy shop.

Thoughts to ponder:

Only a life lived for others is a life worth while.

~ Albert Einstein

If "others" does not include animals, I'm doomed!

Stay cool!! This year is just mixed up all over our country.

I had to discontinue feeding birds at my house because of Jimmy cat who would sit just like that under the feeders... Darn cats!

Your new creations look wonderful. I especially like your smart looking potholder.

I wish I were there with you having a cuppa but HATE mosquito bites so I guess that means you have to come to Utah. ;-)

Loved all the pictures. I might have to sit out back this morning and take a few myself to share. It rained all night and everything looks so green and smells so clean.

Hello Gorgeous and Good Morning!

Your pics are so wonderful! Darn squirrels...they can be so pesky and yet I love watching their antics.
You and mosquito bites don't do well together so get inside and stay there...I can see you have been busy again, lol. I love the dishcloths.
Stay Cool Dear Doris! :)

My cousin has a pic on her blog of a cat in the birdbath and one cat on the ground by the birdbath. I'm sure birds stay away from there too. Stay in where you'll be cool!!

Hi Doris! LOVE your potholder and dishcloths!.. How funny when I first thought it crazy to crochet your own dishcloths!.. All that beautiful yarn and work, just to wash dirty dishes!.. But now that I've tried them, I LOVE them! Homemade, crocheted dishcloths are all I've used for years now!.. Oh, and just found out about APP's potholder swap, so I signed up! That should be fun!.. Keep cool, and have a good night! ~tina

The outside pics are just beautiful - it is nice to see all that green when we winter is here and the days are grey - but the temp is just right.

Your crochet creations are gorgeous - love your colour combinations.
