Harvestmen, Pekingese and Moth

I went to visit my friend this morning. She lives in a house on a big lot in a woodsy area, which is why I like taking my boy over there so that he can run free. While we were conversing on her porch, enjoying the great outdoors, he, Mr. Gizmo, was whining at the front door wanting to go inside (go figure!)

She also has a well on her property and allows me to fill up my water jugs with wellwater for me and my pets to drink (yes, including my fish) and it tastes so good.

On the way home I took a couple of photos of these Harvestmen. Believe it or not, I used to play with those Daddy-longlegs when I was a kid growing up in Germany. I'd allow them to crawl up my arm and then pick them up and put them back on my wrist, just to watch them climb up my arm again - eeeek, I'd not do that  today!

When I arrived back home, I saw this clinging to the outside wall of my apartment right next to my front door. I thought it was fascinatingly creepy looking, so I photographed it. It looks to me like some sort of moth, only what kind? Does anyone know?

So much for my wildlife photography today!

YUCK! I never let the spiders crawl up my arm...my daughter use to have catapella's do that. She would stuff her pockets with them! Cathy's husband takes care of her dogs, so all is well!
Thanks for asking.

yewooooooohhhhhhhhh! I'm not that much of a nature lover..the moth I have never seen anything like it..looks almost bat like. I have no idea what it is....you little guy is cute there on the porch...getting some fresh air. You are lucky you have a place to go in the country, get fresh air and well water...Lots of minerals in there I suspect...not chlorine and chemicals....

I am so desperatly seeking to enjoy more simple things, and get out of the rat race and commotion..your are so right Doris...even in the spider and moth God's handiwork..part of the grand scheme and plan, order of nature..

Like the well water...how lovely..simple natural from the earth where God put it..for us to enjoy..he takes care of all of us
from the smallest to the tallest

Have a beautiful evening...

Hi Doris! Gizzy looks adorable as always, but that moth?? Nope, I can't help ya there! I don't know WHAT he is, and I'm not too sure I WANT to!.. Hope you can find time to try some Crochet Soiree projects! That would be fun, if you can! I still love that little "ewe" potholder you sent me!! It hangs prominently in a special place in my kitchen! So CUTE!! ~tina

For your question on the guide dogs:
"Can they start over or are they disqualified forever?"
It really depends on the guide dog school - and the issue they had. Some issues (like not wanting to work in the guide dog harness) can't be fixed - but they can be placed as a service dog - if they don't mind the coat.
So it really depends on the training problem - and how far along the dog is.

Neat photos. Not sure if I'd let one of those spiders crawl up my arm either, but it's fun to look at them in photos.
