I'm getting a little impatient, because we have almost mid-November and the leaves on my two ornamental pear trees have not turned color yet. We've had a lot of rain this year and it's still pretty warm, so I'm sure that has a lot to do with it. But so far, this is all I get. This is what I'm looking forward to:
My "cottage" (apartment) is right on the corner and I'm blessedly wedged between those two big, shade giving trees that bloom white in the spring and give me brilliant color in the fall - eventually! In fact, it's so nice and warm today, the butterflies are fluttering on the Lantana bush (as usual).
I saw a little green face peeking at me when I opened the back door and noticed this little lizard stuck between the screen and the glass window, so I left the door propped open and slid my hand up inside to make sure there's plenty of room for him to escape. I think he's the little one that lives in the compressor out back and when my cat Middi sits on the windowsill, he comes out and dances for her, blowing his red balloon throat and bobbing up and down on his little lizard legs like he's moving to some inaudible beat. I think it's funny. That must be the most impossible courtship I've ever seen, IF indeed that's what it is. Maybe he's just teasing her because she can't get out. Gizzy and I had our walk around the lake earlier and now he's convalescing on the chair beside me with his sock on. He kept chewing on his pad till it got infected, so I keep it clean, medicated and under wrap for it to heal. He's pretty good about walking with it and keeping it on.

Doris, sweet Doris, the leaves will change, and you will see the true nature at hand in a month. You will see it will happen. Then take lots of pictures I love to see autumn in the works.
God bless
Heidi
Gizzy is just such a beautiful boy!
That lizard makes me laugh! Oh boy, the honeymoon would be quite short if he ever succeeds in wooing Middi...his tail will be promptly bitten off, and he'll be lucky if he can escape from his feline bride...
I can hardly believe your trees are still green! They have to change soon. Patience is so miserable to require on these things. :)
I think that lizard would definitely be my friend! He's cute.
Hehe, poor poor Middi...
must be so tempting. Baby does the same exact thing everyday. It's like "kitty TV"!
Baby's always so fascinated by anything outdoors, although, her fascination has got her into trouble in the past. She's tried to venture out of the house when she was still an energetic, little kitten. The last time she got out without me knowing, she waited by the front, outside door crying to get back inside. She was either much to frightened without her mommy, or she just didn't want to dirty up her dress. Either way, she still had a bath that night.
Hopefully she's learned her lesson!

I still can't believe how much Middi looks like my cat Midnight. Sometime I'll have to scan in a picture, I don't think I have any on the computer.
Maybe you and I should trade homes. The leaves have already changed and fallen off the trees here :( and today it's almost 70 degrees out, possibly the last warm day we're going to have! I am a little sad about it. I keep hearing this winter we are going to have a LOT of snow!
Adorable Gizzy! I am waiting for the Bradford Pear Tree in our back yard to change, too. Everything else in the neighborhood is done and falling but not that tree-ha! Kerrie
I hope Gizzy's paw is better soon.
Love the Lizard. Our trees have already turned and blown away. Thank you for your continued Spike support :-). xoxo
your pictures are always so lovely. I hope Gizzy's paw gets well soon. You also have a cute kitty. Forget about those leaves changing--I just love getting those last few weeks of summertime in!
Doris Gizzy is so cute in that picture. I am glad you stopped over for a visit on Disney Sunday I enjoy visiting with you. Glad you liked the movie of the night.
Have a wonderful week,
Blessings,
Heidi
