Ashes to ashes!

I'm glad now Gizzy's here with me instead of in the ground:

Today I was awakened by the sound of Gizzy's voice...he had this special yawn/whine when he wanted me to wake up to go outside...well, that's exactly what I heard with such loudness and clarity, that for a second I thought it was really him. When my eyes popped open, I saw Weezie soundly sleeping on Gizzy's Orthopedic mattress... and I remembered that today was the day I had to pick up Gizzy's cremains from the Vet.

When I returned from picking up Gizzy's urn, I found a package on my front porch that a Facebook friend sent me to help console me with some German goodies from Aldi's.

Best of all was the card that she made for me with Gizzy faces all over...inside and out!

I realized that in a way, Gizzy is taking care of his mommy indirectly because the gift was sent because of his passing.

Thank you, Elaine, and thank you Gizzy. I do not feel that I am worthy, but I accept with gratitude and humility for if it weren't for my boy, I would not be eating rum cake and cookies right now.

I'd rather have Gizzy back instead of the gifts, but since that's not possible, I am so thankful for the blessings.

You picked out such a lovely urn, Doris. It will take you a long time to get over this, and I think this time of the year will always be sad for you, I am so very sorry. It will get better with time, though you will always miss him. And Weezie needs you now.

It's amazing how they are with us still after they are gone. I'm glad you had some comfort goodies. That was very sweet.

I am sad to learn of your loss. I think what you heard was in fact him and he was reminding you to come and get him to bring him home. The card your F/B friend made is just beautiful!

What a sweet thing to do and such a nice gift she sent you. I'm sure Gizzy is smiling down on his momma and hoping that she is doing well

Your FB friend really identifies with you, she took good care of you! If somebody would send me goodies and treats like that it would make my whole year. To know someone cared enough to take the time to pack up and mail you something is always special.

The urn is marvelous. I am so sorry for your loss, but you do still have him with you. That yawn you heard was probably to reaffirm that he IS still here with you.

Glad all those people support you and I am also so happy that you have Weezie there for real kisses...... :)

Have a good weekend dear ♥

What a nice card and gift! I know it will take a long time for you to stop feeling the pain of Gizzy's passing. He is with you again now and I'm sure he is happy.

What a beautiful urn!!! My dad had his ancient beagle cremated when she passed away but she's in a small, wooden box with an engraved thingie on it with her name. Sadly, my dad was cremated too just a few months later. Whenever I go to my mom's house, I always make sure to kiss the dog and my dad.

I'd like to think that it really was Gizzy you heard this morning. He's watching over you.
