I'm still here...

It seems like a long time since I posted on my blog, but I've been unable to go online for a while. I had some type of mole ware that hijacked my computer and didn't allow me to go online (nor perform other normal functions) without trying to force me to buy their anti virus program - what an ordeal that turned out to be trying to get rid of it. I actually hat to totally reboot my whole Operating System and all the Drivers with the manufacturer's recovery disks - what a hassle. Now I have a blank computer and have to re-establish accounts, passwords, install programs that I no longer have, nor have the disks for because some of them came preloaded from Dell when I bought it years ago. I have my work cut out for me, but at least I can use the computer and don't have to walk to the library to check e-mails and run my Etsy shop.

I spent all day today working the bugs out so that I can at least get Netflix operating again and watch my DVDs since I don't have TV and the computer is my only source of entertainment in terms of watching movies and keeping in touch.

The weather has been so wonderful lately that in all honesty, I don't want to be in front of the computer as much as in the summer. I have been spending a lot of time outside with Gizzy enjoying the weather. Gizzy is feeling a lot better - and we are having a wonderful time breathing in the fresh, cool air and dreaming of the Blue Ridge Mountains where I want to relocate to next year.

I still have to do a few more installations before I can start using my digital camera and posting pictures again, so please bear with me and whatever you do, enjoy your time with your loved ones, even if they are just your four legged friends. I would be very lonely without my little doggy Gizmo! He turned 13 on Nov.1st and I appreciate every single day I have with him.

God bless you and yours!

So good to learn you are okay Doris, I was beginning to worry. Nasty computer viruses, moles or bugs whatever you want to call them. They can really wreak havoc. Sounds like you are on your way back though. Good that you and the Giz have been getting in some outdoor time.

Hallo Doris,

I was starting to get worried about you, Doris, and am glad to hear that it was "only" your computer!! It is so bothersome when our electronics decide to give us trouble - especially if we keep in touch with the world through our computers!! I'm glad you are getting it all worked out!! Love to you and Gizzy! Silke

Oh Doris...I was worried! I even penned you a letter yesterday that I am going to stick in the mail today!

I'm happy it is only computer issues even thought that is a biggy! Nothing like those nasty worms, trojans, spyware, etc. I hope you can find some software to help you replace what you've lost.

So happy you and Gizz are enjoying the cooler temps...I am too! This week may be the Indian Summer for us...by this weekend they are calling for rain/snow mix so it looks like the season starts changing soon. Winter Solstice is at our doorstep.

Sending you lots of love and hugs and give The Gizz a hug from me!

Oh, I was worryin' about ya Doris! I'm sorry about your 'puter problems, but am so glad to see you back! We've had some damp and gloomy weather here lately (daytime temps in the 40s!.. OUCH!), but I think it's supposed to start looking better soon! It might even hit 60s again! You know how we like walking our dog too, and we will miss it when the weather starts getting too cold and icy for it! We are enjoying out little outings while we can! Dear Son says he likes the smell of Fall! I do too! ~tina

Glad to see you are up and running again! It's amazing what we take for grated everday! I can't imagine if that happened to me! Glad here you are having wonderful weather...it's finally turning chilly here in AZ! I actually got to wear a sweater today! Amazingly, people were tanning out by the pool just this past weekend! Guess Mr. Winter may have finally made it to the valley!

I was sooooo glad to hear from you on Facebook and see you back to your blog too! :) Next I was going to have to resort to snail mail, I was getting worried! I'm glad Gizzy is doing so well, and totally agree, appreciate every single day you have with your pets.

I was just about to call out the National Guard to go looking for you. I've had that same virus before and it's a royal pain in the caboose (for lack of a stronger word).

I'm glad you're finally getting some cooler weather. I'd send you a bit of ours if I could.

Oh dear Doris, I am afraid I am heading into computer trouble too. My son lives in Texas, I am in Ky. and he is an IT specialist. He keeps me cleaned up remotely pretty good, but after so long it just goes. He send me new memory and I took the old out and replaced the new. Don't know how long it will last. Did enjoy your previous post about the flower and chest.

Welcome back! But what a hassle with your computer. So sorry to hear that. I just don't see the pleasure someone would get out of doing that to people.

Happy belated birthday to sweet Gizzy. Mom says she so understands about the bond between a human and her pup.

Sorry to hear about the computer problem and all the issues that come along with it. Hope you are able to get it all figured out.

Well, before I read this, I was going to ask "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?"??? So sorry for this frustrating problem! We had that anti virus thing, they make it look like your computer is infected, and then when you click, It's all over! Ours was Russian, and a computer savy friend found a Russian fix to download and get rid of. It only took about 20 minutes. When and where are you moving? You will be by ME!!! We can meet!!!

I had wondered what had happened to you, good to know all is well.

I hate computer problems. Have had a few of my own in the past and know just how frustrating they are. I'm glad yours is slowly but surely getting back to where it once was.

I'm also very happy that Gizzy is feeling better.

Hallo Doris,

Glad to see you are back online again. Computers can be such a pain yet we do love them too! Wonderful that you still have Gizzy at the age of 13. Our husky lived to 17, one yorkie to 18, and my other loveable yorkie to 12. Now we have this German Shepherd who is about a year..maybe or so the vet says! Enjoy the pretty Georgia weather as next week they say it is going to change for us.
Tschuss,
Ulrike
