Please vote every day till December 20th

This is about the animals, but then with me it's almost always about the animals - or the environment. I would like to ask all of you nice folks in Blogland to please participate...and ask all your friends to help too. It's very simple: Each day through December 20th, you can cast your vote for your favorite participating shelter or rescue group by clicking here: The Animal Rescue Site You can help that shelter win one of three big prizes, which include a $3,000 grant for third place; $5,000 grant for second place; and a $20,000 Grand Prize grant. Thank you and God bless you for loving our animals!

Thank you for posting this! I bookmarked the page and voted; I just read that animal charities only receive 2% of all charitable donations so I feel like I'm making a difference!! :)

Yes, a friend just told me the very thing the other day. It makes you just want to buy dog or cat food and take it to your local shelter. At least then you know it's going to the animals, right?

Or pay to have a pet spayed...there's tons of ways to help the animals without sending it to a big organization, not that I don't believe they're no good, it's just with my measly amount of money, I'd do more good helping out on a local level.

Good morning Doris,

Thanks for stopping by the farmhouse and for making that sweet comment. I have a very large family, wish more of them could have attended our reunion this year. But, everyone has schedules!! I am just thankful for those that were here and for the fun that everyone had. I just hate BORING reunions!

Your little Gizzi is so precious! We have 4 cats. If you go into my archives you can read all about Jack-E. That story is a hoot!

Speaking of animal shelters, we just had a mama dog and thre puppies "dropped off" at the farm. We were able to get them into our local animal shelter where I am sure someone will fall in love with them and adopt them. They were immediately met with open arms by volunteers and I never felt so much love for animals when I walked in the door. I can't imagine what kind of person it takes to abandon their pets.

Thanks for the info on the charity, I will certainly look into it.
