Azaleas, Dogwoods and more...

Yesterday, Gizzy and I had a nice walk around the lake. I hope you like the photos:

My Azalea boy!

White and pink Azaleas in foreground of Lake Irma

Gizzy's familiar stomping ground

Duck Attack!

Fearless ducks eat while Gizzy barks

...and barks

...until he loses interest

..and walks away to investigate

.. with persistent duckies in pursuit

Does anybody know what plant that is? It looks like a Christmas cactus to me, but I've never seen that fruit (or whatever it is) on them before.

Fragrant blossoms - might be a Honeysuckle?

Passing the Nature Trail, I love to look at all the fern growing in the woods

Down the steps to the Nature Trail are bridges and walkways along the winding brook for a nice little scenic walk.

I call this photo "Heaven and Earth"

Azaleas and Dogwoods in bloom

Great White Egret sitting at the left side of the small peninsula in Lake Irma

(a closer look)

On the other end of the lake, a Great Blue Heron stalks his breakfast near the Boardwalk

(a closer look)

A busy sky is brewing up rain showers

Meeting some friends along the way (Gizzy is on top of the table looking down)

Pretty Clematis growing next to a mail box

I don't know what it is, but I like it!

Spanish Moss covered Dogwood trees

Ok, mom, I'm done walking now - come and get me!

Lastly, I want to show you the snuggle blankie bear I crocheted yesterday for my neighbor who needs it for a family member's baby: I found this pattern in a Crochet World magazine, dated April 2008. You might be able to find it on their website at Crochet-World.com.

Betty liked it very much and now I'm going to finish up a hoodie for another neighbor's baby boy.

It's raining off and on today, so it's a good time to stay inside and crochet. Stay well!

As we look out our window at the falling snow, it is quite refreshing for Mom to see these beautiful photos, every one is just gorgeous. We wonder if that plant might be some sort of holly, the leaves look like holly leaves.

And that blanket is so nice. We would love to know too where you found the pattern.

Schoene Bilder!

Doris were those your apartments in the background and that lake is your view - are you that close to it? Gosh it is gorgeous there - your lake is awesome. The flowers are out everywhere - you meet your friends on the walk - you are growing your own garden - what a wonderful home. sandie

What beautiful scenery and photos Doris. It is not that colorful here yet. We need another week or so. Woke up this AM with a cover of snow on the ground. The sun did shine, however this afternoon. Blessings

You have taken awesome photos again! You do live in a fantastic area - all those blossoming trees! Just stunning! The reflection photo are incredible! Doris, I think that's a Holly bush with the blue berries. From the leaves, that orange bush looks like a rhododendron, but I'm not really sure they come in that color. What a beautiful walk! Thanks for taking me along.

Very cute crochet gift!!

I love your blanket! Your beautiful reflection pictures are my favorite! Gizzy's barking doesn't even phase the ducks? Then THEY chase HIM??? Too funny! I think the tall orange flower may be a lupine, it looks like the onmes here.

I'm not sure how I found your blog, but I'm here!

I live in Georgia, too, and I love azaleas. It's not spring without blooming azaleas and dogwoods.

That blanket is adorable! I enjoy making baby blankets, too, and I just give away the excess.

Hallo Doris,

(seufz)

(grins)

Eine schöne Woche wünsche ich Dir!

P.S. I think the one bush may be related to the Holly Family? Similar Leaves.

Liebe Doris,

Also google das mal.
Die andere ist kein honeysuckle aber eine Rhododendron, common name Azalea, and fragrant as most are in Georgia... Also fast da. Wir leben im Zentrum von Georgia, right in the heart of it on I-16 = Dublin.
Ich werde dich an meine Georgia Bloggerliste zufügen.
Lieber Gruss,

Mariette
