I found this free knitting pattern on the Lion Brand Yarn website for this Celtic Trinity Knot Hot Pad and I just had to make one to see what it looked like in person.
The pattern asks for a Giant 5 inch Plastic Red Superknitter (Large Spool Knitter)

Do you remember these? I had one as a kid in Germany, only mine was a wooden spool. You could make your own, but I simply knitted the I-Cord with two double ended knitting needles instead. If you want to know how to do that, just follow this tutorial on You Tube:
How to knit an I-Cord
It didn't take very long to make and I think it's quite unusual looking and perfect for serving your green tea on St. Patrick's Day - what do you think? (This item is available for sale in my Etsy Shop.)
It's supposed to be a hot pad, but I think it looks pretty hanging up as well.
Green leaf lettuce seedlings. I'm in the process of transplanting them now.
I love the way these sunflower sprouts still have their little shell hats on.
I am very pleased watching everything grow and wonder why I've not done this container gardening sooner.
