The Spirit of Goodwill band

I am a die hard PBS fan. To me there's nothing better than to turn on the tube and learn something new, see something different or be moved to tears, like I was this morning. I have never heard of this band before, but oh, what talented group of people.

The Spirit of Goodwill is a 28-person band consisting of members with mental and physical disabilities, that have amazed audiences with their musical abilities.



When I think of mentally challenged individuals, I sometimes think that they are the lucky ones - for they were born without the "mean" gene. I think they may be Angles on earth disguised as human beings. I have met several mentally challenged individuals over my life time and I have never been hurt or belittled by any one of them. I enjoy their straight-forward disposition. You don't have to wonder about them plotting against you or having an ulterior motive for being nice to you, because generally what you see is what you get. I can appreciate that. God bless them and the people who take care of them.
