was very disappointing for me.
Today was the day when I was going to take one of our feral "community cats" to have them spayed or neutered since the city absorbs the cost for one stray animal per month. I put out the trap last night, placed a can of cat food in there, but this morning, the food had been eaten and the trap remained open...meaning I got nothing, zilch, zip, nada, zero...and I'm very disappointed because now I have to wait another month to try again to capture one. I wonder if the trap is faulty or if the animal in there was extra light - or maybe it was a mouse or rat that ate the food...oh, well...I will just have to wait and try it again next month. I was so looking forward to getting this spay/neuter thing started.

I'm going to make the rounds now and visit some of you because I've been facebooking instead of blogging. I like playing one of the games on there called 'Gardens of Time' that I find very addicting.. Shame on me! I hope to get over it pretty soon because this is not how I want to spend my days permanently - glued to the computer screen. I need to get out of this rut that I'm in. I know it's not healthy.
Gizzy had a shower with me this morning and now he's resting in his pink bed all clean and content in the cool air conditioning. It was kind of hot by the time we got out, so we didn't walk very much. I don't like to see him pant, but tomorrow is another day for getting up early and walking around the lake.
Bye for now - see you on your blogs!

So far so good, you realize Facebook is out to hook you and are aware to stay alert! The trap thing is a mystery!! Did you feel the earthquake at 2:00? We are right at the epi-center, it was so scary! Sounded like a train and everything shook so much, I thought I was going to die! Now we wait for the aftershocks!
Doris, I just LOVE that photo of Gizzy in his bed, all fluffy and clean! He is soooo cute!! Too bad about the cat - sounds like it's a smart one to be able to eat the food and avoid the trap. Better luck next month!! Liebe Gruesse, Silke
he looks cute on his pink bed !
Nobody can look as cute as Gizzy and nobody is as good at letting you take pictures as he is. He looks like he is sitting on a cloud of fluff and so content. Wouldn't we like to feel like that?
You trying to get these cats fixed is a wonderful idea. Sorry it didn't work this time, but I am sure you will do it next time. At least you care enough to try.
Have a good night,
Erika, Gidget, Seffi and Sissi
aw, look how cute Gizzy is on that pink bed.
Liebe Doris,
Gizzy sieht sehr schön aus und auf das pinke, Gott was für ein Leben er hat! Geniess den Tag und hoffentlich kühlt es bald ab.
Lieber Gruss,
Mariette
We've not had much luck with those traps either. We've had a raccoon getting into our henhouse (and have lost several hens, sadly). So far it seems the raccoon just sweeps out the food but won't ever go in the trap. I hope you have better luck next time!
Awww...love Gizzy on his bed! I'm proud of your efforts to help the animal population.
I think Hav-a-hart traps are the best. Easy to set and easy to release the animal. I would put in only a small amount of food, just enough to entice them. Hope you have good luck next month.
And, I suspected you were over at Facebook. But, it seems a lot of us have slowed down on our posting. Of course we miss you and Gizzy here in Blogland.
Could you set it up again and try to catch it and then let it go? Would it go back in next month if you did?
Gizzy just looks so soft and fluffy!
Have a Great Day!

You are a Facebook traitor! Oh well - have fun with your games. Love Gizzy's pink rug! Sorry about the cat.
Doris,
Love that photo of Gizzy in his fluffy pink bed. Just precious. Sorry that you didn't capture a feral cat in order to get it neutered. Hope next month goes better.
Gizzy is a hoot! What a classy bed! Perfect today for Pink Saturday over at Beverly's place! Sorry you could not capture that feral cat. They deserve a second chance. My friend in Dacono, CO. Lorna, captures them too. She is such a kind heart toward strays. Have a great weekend with Gizzy!
nice
Well darn it Doris! I agree with the gal who said put in only a bit of food...just enough to entice them in? Maybe it is a faulty trap, I don't know. Well I give you A+ for effort!
Gizz looks adorable as always on his fluffy bed. :)
Facebook games? I don't do Facebook at all...got a virus over there that totally wiped out my hard drive and to have it worked on. I haven't been back since and I know those games are addicting, lol. I play Zuma everyday on mine, ha ha ha.
Stay cool and talk with you soon you beautiful Sister/Friend!!!
