My friend's husband graciously arranged the services of a garage who have the ability to take the vehicle "up on the rack" for inspection at no cost to me. It turns out that the seller has no title (just a bill of sale) and expects me to get a replacement title if I want one (like, what? after the sale?) I will not buy it without a title, nor a title check. When I stated my requirements to the seller on the phone this morning and asked him for the VIN number, it got awfully quiet on the other end of the line, so it's a real possibility that I may not get a car after all - at least not this one.
But, that's ok! I'm simply not anxious to react on impulse (something I'm notorious for) especially since I have proven to myself that I can survive without a vehicle of my own and that life does go on... if even a bit more inconvenient, but it can be done!
I will keep you informed! Meanwhile, you can find me in my office:
under close supervision of my boss, who keeps a very watchful eye on me!
...and instead of going to the water cooler, I'll stretch my legs by walking around the corner to see the sunflowers in the rose bed:
Have a nice day everyone!

Boy, that's some boss you've got there. I like your view from the office too.
Be very careful. My son purchased a vehicle without seeing the title and learned later when he got it that it was a "salvaged title," meaning that the vehicle had been totaled and rebuilt. Not only does it diminish the value of the car but he never could get it to align right so it just ate up tired. Had a horrible time trying to sell it. So always follow your intuition. It's usually spot on. Good luck finding the perfect vehicle. There's one out there for sure.

viel Glück beim Autokauf.

I am sorry to hear about the car, but you want to stay away from this one!! There is something very shifty about it, especially if he doesn't want to give you the VIN number!!! Some people think a woman is a pushover for mechanical things, but we can show them we are not!
Nice office. :)
I hope you can find a good car for you soon.
Sei vorsichig! Better to go without a car than to buy a "lemon". You live in a gorgeous area - although very different als Deutschland.
Dein Buro ist wunderbar - besonders dein Chef!!!! Der Gizzy ist ausgezeichnet!!!!
Hugs to you both,
♥ Robin ♥
Mmm.....I don't know how your car transfer system works in the USA but no VIN number forthcoming....dodgy!...I too would be giving that one a miss...
What a great office although your boss does look like a hard task master...he he he...
Too bad about the car but I don't blame you. I wouldn't go for a deal without getting a title either.
You have the most lovely office. I wouldn't mind spending the day there. Your boss doesn't look too tough either. I bet he's really a sweetheart :)
Well you know what I think - wait and something better will come a long. I know it.
And I love your office - looks like you have some shade in the afternoon.
And your boss -does he pay well?

This does not sound like a purchase you want to make. Bide your time and get the most for your buck. Nice to have a friend who can help you out like that.
Gizzy sure makes a wonderful boss:)
Nice office. CUTE assistant. Oh! And run, don't walk, in the other direction. That car is trouble with a capital T.
Love your office, and your boss looks very cute! :) Hope you can get a new car very soon!
Love and hugs to you both! x

Sounds like you are wise to hold off on the deal. Better to find out now though.
