This sign is posted smack dab in the middle of town where I live and I'm torn between wanting to laugh or cry... another perfect example of giving the general public a "false sense of security" or is it a "sense of false securtiy"? - do you have any strange signs posted in your town?
Yup, that oughtta stop the criminals. I'd feel so much safer if *our* town posted one of these.
ReplyDeleteOur strangest sign was on the hill of dirt next door, some joker climbed up with a 'bump' street sign and placed it smack on top.
I agree with you about that sign. Ridiculous and a waste of taxpayers dollars I'd say. I am thinking now about signs in my area and when I find something interesting I'll pass it along.

ReplyDeleteYou have a point there. Law abiding people would obey the sign, but criminals won't go put their drugs and guns away to obey the sign.

ReplyDeleteThere are similar signs posted at the entry ways at the hospital where I work. I think it says something like "Fire Arms are strictly prohibited."
ReplyDeleteI haven't seen a sign like that before. I always wonder when the city orders them if they really think it's going to stop someone from bringing a gun or drugs or whatever into city limits. It's really not!
